Will Power Awning Open If Vinyl Fails

Turns out there are to possible courses of action if this happens to my dometic 9100 awning.

Will power awning open if vinyl fails.

Its to prevent it from accidentally extending across the roof when you are traveling. Turn crank in a clock wise movement to open awning. The awning is designed to be manually operated in emergencies or power outages by the use of a hand crank supplied with the awning. If you have a power awning you might think it s easy to just push the button and watch the awning run all the way out.

This awning can come with double sided vinyl or acrylic fabric as well as an optional metal weathershield. Electric awning will not extend if the motorhome engine is running. To open your rv awning first squeeze the support tabs on the awning which will release the travel locks. Well the problem here is you do not want to hit the button and run the awning all the way out with one shot.

On the arm closest to the trailer front end is a 12 volt wire connection. Insert hand crank in the hole on the right motor end of the awning and through the stirrup inside. Providing the utmost in style and convenience the 9100 power awnings can be extended and retracted at the flip of a switch. The awning wont be extending if the motorhome was in running state.

Once they re unlocked use the end of your awning rod to switch the ratchet mechanism to the open position.
