And you can often avoid tile rip up which can add a lot to your labor costs cons of vinyl flooring while vinyl flooring is low maintenance and highly durable as with any product there are a handful of cons to be aware of.
But my understanding is that overall costs have not increased.

So to answer the question why is new vinyl so expensive i would answer it all depends on where you are shopping.
For one it is because americans have gotten used to cheap music.
Listening to cd s again and its pleasurable unlike being pissed at records all the time.
It might not seem like much but in the 30 s a dollar w.
So every 4th or 5th record i buy is poorly pressed or cut too hot.
It is a niche fashionable product that people are willing to pay over the odds for.
Luxury vinyl flooring is much less expensive than hardwood tile or other high end flooring options.
Not to mention overpriced.

For instance 78s in the 30 s sold for a dollar.
It was wilson s only single and the majority of demo copies were destroyed which is why it s so collectible.
There are many valuable vinyl records out there including perhaps the most expensive motown northern soul 7 inch ever do i love you indeed i do recorded by frank wilson in 1965 and which sold for over 25 000 31 000 at auction in 2009.
But vinyl records are expensive and can take many weeks to produce.
And so will the people who think they are getting a much better aural experience.
